For those of you who are grantees of the SBA’s Shuttered Venue Operators Grant (SVOG), there is an important June 30th deadline coming up, which is the LAST DAY to “incur” costs that can be reimbursed with SVOG funds. I have included several links below to key resources that can assist you in making last-minute decisions. I highly recommend that you review them all, but especially the June 2022 webinar. While the focus of this webinar is on auditing requirements, it has significant information on compliance guidance for all grantees on how to properly expend “eligible” and “allowable” costs.

Additionally, I am rescheduling my zoom Office Hours with Nina next week to take place on an alternative date (on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 instead of Friday, July 1, 2022). This session will only focus on SVOG questions, so that you have enough time to ask me your last-minute questions before the June 30th deadline. Please drop-in to listen or ask your specific SVOG questions during the Zoom meeting on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. ET.

  • Audit Requirements for For-Profit Entities will take place on July 14, 2:00 – 3:30pm ET. Grantees will receive email invitations directly from the SBA to join the webinar.

Federal Legislative Update:

I’d also like to provide a quick legislative update from Capitol Hill. Yesterday, the U.S. House of Representatives Subcommittee on Interior, Environment and Related Agencies allocated $207 million each to the National Endowment for the Arts and National Endowment for the Humanities. This important subcommittee is responsible for setting the first appropriations mark for next year’s (FY23) funding level. If the Senate matches this funding level set yesterday by the House, it will represent a 15% increase over the current year’s funding level of $180 million each and is a $3 million increase over the Administration’s budget request. Congratulations on your grassroots advocacy work and to members of the House Interior Appropriations Committee led by Congresswoman Chellie Pingree (D-ME).

There is more work to be done, but we're off to a good start!
