Learn which states have been approved (48 states plus 2 territories to date) by FEMA to pay an extra $300 weekly unemployment compensation to those currently on their state's unemployment rolls.  As you will recall, the President made an Executive Order (bypassing Congress) to re-purpose federal FEMA Disaster Assistance funds to help supplement state unemployment payments for an approximate 8 week extension when the $600 weekly Federal Pandemic Unemployment Assistance expired on July 31, 2020.  These FEMA funds will take a while to funnel through the state unemployment portals, but it will be retroactive on a weekly basis to August 1, 2020. This weekly $300 payment is called the "Lost Wages Assistance Program" and it's a temporary fix to the federal pandemic unemployment assistance sunsetting before Congress and the White House negotiate new permanent (hopefully) legislation.
