“Frustration with the nation’s lack of economic recovery is clearly top of mind among voters and candidates,” Robert Lynch, President and CEO of the Americans for the Arts Action Fund said after last week’s elections. We agree and believe the arts are part of the solution in towns and cities across the nation. More than 2.2 million people work in the arts and are among the millions of business entrepreneurs fueling the economy. As the newly elected Members of Congress prepare to enter office, help make sure they understand the profound role the arts play in spurring economic growth and job creation.

Below are the ten incoming freshmen who have the largest number of arts related jobs in their districts - let them know what the arts mean to their home and the country today! And stay tuned as we continue to educate all of the new Members of Congress about the vital role the arts and arts education play for us all.

Representing Arizona's District 05 with 10,108 arts related jobs.

Joe Heck (R-NV)
Representing Nevada's District 03 with 9,820 arts related jobs.

Colleen Hanabusa (D-HI)
Representing Hawaii's District 01 with 8,629 arts related jobs.

Robert Dold (R-IL)
Representing Illinois' District 10 with 8,395 arts related jobs.
