Carmel's Center for the Performing Arts Gains National Attention

Carmel, Indiana isn’t well known to many outside of the state. But it may soon change as its newest attraction, Center for the Performing Arts, gains national attention from those far beyond Indiana’s borders.  Leading a city that has seen rapid growth in the past decade, Mayor Jim Brainard has worked hard to make this Indianapolis suburb a cultural center.  It is precisely because of these economic investments in the arts that local Tea Party members are targeting the mayor in the upcoming Republican primary.  To shed some light on the work of Mayor Brainard and what the situation in Carmel means, I sat down with Nina Ozlu Tunceli, Executive Director of the Arts Action Fund.
