On May 16, the House Appropriations Committee released interim subcommittee allocations (302(b)s) for Fiscal Year (FY) 2025. The 302(b)s would provide a total of $895 billion in defense funding and $710 billion in non-defense funding. They were developed using the caps outlined in the Fiscal Responsibility Act of 2023 and amount to a 1% increase for defense spending and a 6% cut for nondefense spending. They are also subject to scoring by the Congressional Budget Office and are expected to change as a result.
