Breaking News: The 2020 Presidential Election was called for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris!

Biden and Harris

President-Elect Biden has been awarded more than 270 electoral votes and the highest popular vote in history with more than 74 million votes. The Trump campaign has already requested multiple state vote recounts and has hastily made legal challenges to state election laws. However, it is clear that the Biden-Harris Transition Team will not get distracted; they have already hit the ground running to best serve the needs and unity of the nation.

This year’s election saw historic voter turnout with the expansion of mail-in balloting, added ballot dropboxes, and extended early voting. History was also made with the election of Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris, not only the first woman, but the first woman of color to be elected to national office. Read our press statement.

The election brings changes to Congress as well. While the House of Representatives will remain under Democratic control, it will have a slimmer majority. The Senate control is not clear yet. Georgia will need to hold Senate run-off elections on January 5, 2021, for both their U.S. Senate seats because none of the candidates secured 50% of the vote. The outcome of these run-off elections will determine control of the Senate and whether President-Elect Biden will be able to quickly get his economic recovery plans through Congress.
