More than 43,000 messages to Congress have been sent, but we still need more. We just posted a new, targeted alert to Congress. Please go back to our E-Advocacy Center to send another message.  Numbers really do matter.
House members have officially filed 400+ floor amendments that they plan to introduce beginning tomorrow to the FY 2011 Continuing Resolution bill. It’s unprecedented and chaotic.  At least two amendments specifically target further cuts to the arts.

  1. Congressman Scott Garrett (R-NJ) has filed amendments to immediately zero-out funding for both the National Endowment for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
  2. Congressman Tim Walberg (R-MI) has filed an amendment to the FY2011 CR to cut the NEA by an additional $20 million.
